Peppers can be grown anytime in Georgia after Spring’s last Frost and before Fall’s first Frost! For best results, we recommend planting in the Spring, then harvesting into the Summer, and finishing up in the Fall. Specific Recommended Growing Dates are listed below.
Purple Bell Peppers are one of the world’s most beautiful Peppers. Cooked or Raw, Purple Bell Peppers add their savory meets sweet flavor to any meal. Whether its a soup, salad, guacamole, omelet or stuffed pepper, Purple Peppers are delicious and versatile.
Peppers prefer a heavier soil, so if your soil is sandy or loamy, add a little bit of organic material to it (compost, manure, castings, etc). Make sure that the soil is well-drained.
Peppers are a great source for Vitamin C, Vitamin A, Vitamin, K, Potassium, Carotene, and many more nutrients!
Full Sun during Summer’s Peak Heat can sometimes cause stress to Pepper Plants. If this happens, reduce the plant’s sun exposure during the peak of the afternoon heat.
Expect for the plants to grow 2 to 3 Feet Tall.
