Early Jersey Wakefield Cabbage is a beloved heirloom variety that dates back to the 1840s. It gained immense popularity due to its early maturity, making it a staple in the southern garden. Produces conical-shaped heads with loose leaves. Expect conical-shaped heads that weigh 3 to 4 pounds, have a height of 12″ to 15″, and average diameter of 22″. Harvest leaves starting from the outside, throughout the season. Harvest full head once mature.

Cabbage has two growing seasons in Georgia. The Spring Season, where Cabbage is started in Late Winter/Early Spring and harvested into the Late Spring and Early Summer. The Fall Season, where Cabbage is started in Summer/Late Summer and harvested into the Early Winter.

Cabbage thrives between the temperatures of 40 degrees and 75 degrees. It is frost tolerant, surviving temperatures as low as 25 degrees.
