Description

Beets have two growing seasons in Georgia. The Spring Season, where Beets are started in Late Winter/Early Spring and harvested into the Late Spring and Summer. The Fall Season, where Beets are started in Summer/Late Summer and harvested into the Early Winter.

The Cylindra Beet is an heirloom variety that thrives in the Georgia Garden. Originating in Northern Europe, it is also known as a “Butter Slicing Beet” because of its tenderness. Produces long Red/Brown beets that are absolutely delicious! Beets prefer to grow in soil that is slightly acidic.
