Description

Beans are a perfect fit for the Georgia Garden! Tolerant to the heat, but not tolerant to cold, it is easy to produce bountiful harvests during Georgia’s Bean Season. We recommend planting beans twice, once in the Spring and again in the early Summer. The key is growing them throughout the warmest and sunniest part of the year. The crop planted in the Spring will be harvested during the Summer and the crop planted during the Early Summer will be harvested in the Late Summer/Early Fall. Yellow Cherokee Wax Beans are a Bush-Type String Bean. They’re generally tolerant of Summer’s Humid Heat. They produce a robust harvest and are naturally resistant to many diseases.

Beans, also known as Legumes, are a nitrogen-fixing plant. Essentially, they naturally add nutrients back to the soil. Growing beans in the garden are an essential part of naturally replenishing the soil’s supply of nutrients.

Nothing is better than beans harvested fresh from the garden! The texture and flavor leave the taste buds feeling nourished and fresh.
