Description
Grow Arugula in the Georgia Garden for most of the year! This slow-bolting variety is heirloom, heat-tolerant, and super productive. Arugula is a Green Leafy Herb that is often times eaten raw in salads or on sandwiches, but can also be cooked like spinach. Arugula has a crisp and earthy, peppery flavor.
Arugula has two growing seasons in Georgia. The Spring Season Crop, where Arugula is started in Winter/Early Spring and harvested into the Late Spring and Early Summer. The Fall Season Crop, where Arugula is started in Summer/Late Summer and harvested into the Early Winter.
Arugula prefers temperatures between 45 degrees and 85 degrees. It is frost tolerant, mature plants, surviving temperatures as low as 6 degrees. Plant’s growth will slow in extreme heat or extreme cold.
