Description
Tomatoes can be grown anytime in Georgia after Spring’s last Frost and before Fall’s first Frost! For best results, we recommend breaking this long tomato growing season into two shorter ones; Spring and Fall. The Spring Growing Season begins after the last Spring Frost, ending with a final harvest in the Summer. The Fall Growing Season begins in the Summer, ending with a final harvest in the Fall. Specific Recommended Growing Dates are listed below.
San Marzano is a special heirloom variety of Plum Tomatoes that were brought to the United States from Naples, Italy. Delicious whether eaten fresh or incorporated into your favorite dish, this heirloom variety is highly cherished by gourmet chefs.
Their sweet flavor, low acidity, and easy-to-peel skin make them one of the most highly-prized tomato varieties in the world.
San Marzano Tomatoes are a Determinate Tomato Bush. This means that once the bush has grown to its full size (typically 3 to 4 Feet tell), it will not grow much more. The bush will produce a large first harvest of tomatoes, then may produce diminishing harvests after that. We recommend starting new San Marzano Tomato Plants multiple times throughout the growing season to ensure a constant and vigorous harvest!
Tomatoes are a great source for Vitamin C, Lycopene, Vitamin, K, and Potassium.
Expect for the plants to grow 3 to 4 Feet Tall.
